What It Entails?
Foundations Training is CAIYA's core curriculum — the practical, working knowledge every entrepreneur needs before they can build something that lasts. It covers seven areas:
- Business Models — how to structure a venture that actually works, not just a good idea.
- Financial Literacy — reading numbers, managing cash flow, understanding what investors will ask
- Market Research — validating demand before building, not after
- Branding & Marketing — building a business people recognise and trust
- Legal Basics — the operational and compliance fundamentals every founder needs early
- Pitching — communicating a venture clearly and persuasively, under pressure
- Design Thinking — solving problems the way the best founders do: user-first, iterative, unafraid to be wrong early
Why It Matters?
Most student entrepreneurship falls apart at the fundamentals — not from a lack of ideas, but from gaps in financial literacy, validation, and the practical mechanics of building a business. Foundations Training closes exactly those gaps, early, before they become expensive mistakes. It's also what makes everything after it work: mentors can go deeper faster with a mentee who already understands business modelling; investors take a pitch more seriously when it's backed by real market research rather than assumption. Foundations Training isn't a prerequisite box to check — it's the base the rest of the CAYA journey is built on.
